Swimming Guest Policy
Guests who live within a 50-mile radius of Blacksburg are considered local residents and will be limited to six visits to the pool yearly, with no more than two times per month, regardless of whether the guest is sponsored by the same member or a different member. The guest fee charge is $5.00. Non-resident guests may use the pool an unlimited number of times. Weekly out-of-town passes are available.

The following rules apply to the use of the pool. Violations should be reported to the Youth and Recreation Director or the General Manager.
  • The Youth and Recreation Director must approve cleanliness and clarity of the water before swimming is permitted. The pool manager has the ability to close the pool is cleanliness standards are not met.
  • Swimming is permitted only when a lifeguard is on duty.
  • Members and their guests must register when entering the pool facility. Guest fees may be billed to the member's account or paid in cash at the sign-in table.
  • Daily and weekly swimming passes may be purchased for guests.
  • Members and guests must provide their own towels.
  • Only bathing suits may be worn in the pool.
  • Persons in swimming attire must restrict their presence to the pool area.
  • Children under the age of twelve (12) must be accompanied by a responsible person age fifteen (15) or older. Fo safety reasons, the pool staff cannot supervise small non-swimmers except during swimming lessons.
  • Children under the age of ten (10) must obtain permission from the lifeguard to use the diving board.
  • No running, rough play, or conduct endangering other's safety is allowed.
  • Floats, flotation devices and balls are permitted in the pool only by permission of the lifeguard. No "swimmies" of "wings" are allowed in the pool and adults must accompany any child using such a device.
  • Pulling or hanging on ropes, floats, or the diving board are prohibited.
  • Recreational swimming is not permitted in diving area or lap lanes.
  • All persons in lap lanes must be swimming or jogging continuous laps.
  • Diving rules are posted and these rules will be strictly enforced.
  • The lifeguard may designate swimming periods for adults only.
  • No glass is permitted in the pool area.
  • All food and beverage consumed at the pool area must be purchased from the poolside grille or the clubhouse.
